a new year

In the sky there's a million stars Shining down upon us.
You can look up at them all, but which one's gonna fall?
The heart it always has the answers if you listen,
But you gotta keep believing,
You gotta keep on reaching.
For that someone you always hope to find,
For that one love that just might change your life.

-Chances

It might be a resolution, or maybe not...
One definite is: marathon training -> Long Beach '07 half-marathon in 2 hrs =)

merry CHRISTmas

a merry 1st christmas to my nephew, Nathan.
a belated b-day to my god-daughter, Isabella

next generation count:
5 nieces
1 nephew

The whole openning presents thing went by quick...its pretty much for the kiddos.
Uncles playing poker, Aunts asking about the missing significant other @ the party,
and the Wii.

Bowling, Golf, then Tennis...before it was all the kids just playing the games, and now its the uncles playing golf.

The End

nothing left

All the walls, all the hiding...
i can't find what i once had

Making time for the things that i missed; only now it seems i don't belong.

Where do i go from here?

26.2 miles later

a few months ago that number seemed daunting. I think it took more than the months of training, it was all the support along the way, someone forgetting their birthday (it was the day of the marathon), running with my 3-1 pace group, looking forward to seeing all the mile markers, the orange shirts at mile 18 onward, a simple prayer that made my knee make it to finish.

Despite the marathon being finished the purpose of it hasn't finish. To raise the funds to build homes in the Philippines.

until the next marathon, i'm recovering for next year =D

felt like reading

God does not ask us to do the things that are easy to us naturally; He only asks us to do the things we are perfectly fitted to by His grace, and the cross will come along the line always - the utmost for His highest

...16 miles to clear your mind...

I've come to a point in my trainning that I don't mind the distance...its one of the few times im not in front of a computer or tv. The fact is at this point of my life i've been struggling. Relationships, faith, plans for the future... running lets me clear my head, remembering why im running, realizing that my struggles are nothing compared those who have nothing.

I forget when the last time I was at a midnight movie showing... A thanks to Kathee for organizing the outing. The movie was well worth the wait...but man...if you saw the movie you know what i mean. I know this blog wasn't much, but I'm tired. Till the next movie. =D

a post for the 09 crew

since abby and anna found my blog. i might as well give them something to read. yes anna, no writer's block this time.

affirmations that tues nite made me remember what a LOG'er said to me when i was a freshman; roughly "Your willingness to serve despite the uncertainty of the future, inspires me to keep going, especially when im struggling spiritually."

The same can be said to my "younger brothers and sisters". You truely do have something special, you have allowed Him to use you as His instruments. You may wonder what is that you all do me make me see that. Just as long you realize that you need Him, through good and especially the bad, you will be open to hear his call for you.

I'll try to stay as long as I can. (i did't use the word "hopefully" cause some of you don't like that word)

pictures, music -> laughs, tears, years of memories

As the year comes to a close, a generation of LOG'ers graduate. From an alumni POV, these people are the ones that came into the family, and had the opportunity to watch them and walk with them in their faith. I've seen so much growth in each of them, and i know the HE has something great for each of them.

Ok I'm done for now, have to make copies of the slideshow

He's waiting for hug, or handshake

Being at praisefest, seeing "old" friends, being part of the audience...
Not being worried about certain things allow you to be open to the experience.
I have to find someone with that pic of all the cfc youth (yfc) alumni; just seeing where everyone is in their life & walk with HIM brought back memories.

Let go, Let GOD -> In God, WE trust

He's called me to let go...to trust Him

walking out of the desert

Its coming to end. These past 40 days have been interesting to say the least. Losing a job, getting a better one, working out and being productive, etc. Sometimes change hurts, other times its welcome. Like the story of the child and the broken toy, the father says: "I can fix it, but you have to let go." I might just have to let go and pray.

My new title at Panasonic Avionics. Honestly, I didn't think I would find something so soon, or so close. Anyway, I start tomorrow.

Offense and Defense

To all the CLIFE staff and speakers, thank you for the every educational weekend. To my small group, thank you for the insight and perspectives. The battles will present themselves and having the "weapons" to defend your faith will only make us stronger.
Dearest Lord give us the strength to carry our crosses and to be the Simon to those in need.

im lookin for my missin' piece

blessed and broken...this lenten season, I have been challenged so much, even though it only a been a week, my mind has been scattered all over. Being very conscious of the things I gave up. Only to wonder if i should take them back. I'm really not sure what the future holds, and frankly that scares me. I feel like a door was closed, and im holding hundreds of keys trying to find the right one. Maybe there isn't a right key, or I just have the wrong door. I should try to find a window, something only prayer can help me see.

still lookin for my missin' piece

EDIT: 3/26/06

It's hard to believe
That I couldn't see
You were always there beside me

Thought I was alone
With no one to hold

But you were always there beside me
This feeling's like no other
I want you to know

I've never had someone that knows me like you do
The way you do
I've never had someone as good for me as you
No one like you
So lonely before I finally found
What I've been looking for
